Metagross

Say it: MET-uh-gross

Kids summary (simpler)Tap to expand

Metagross is the Iron Leg Pokémon — Steel and Psychic from Beldum → Metang → Metagross. In Pokémon GO it is a top Steel/Psychic attacker; Meteor Mash from Beldum Community Day (or an Elite TM) is essential. It can Mega Evolve into Mega Metagross. Steel helps against Fairy, Ice, and Rock; Psychic helps against Fighting and Poison. Fire, Ghost, Dark, and Ground punish it. Evolve Metang or catch Metagross from raids.

Mega Evolution

Metagross can Mega Evolve into Mega Metagross (still Steel / Psychic). Mega Evolution uses Candy plus Mega Metagross Energy, boosts Steel attackers in the raid lobby, and only one Mega or Primal can be active at a time. Shadow Metagross cannot Mega Evolve — purify first if you want the Mega.
