Kids summary (simpler)Tap to expand

Salamence is the Dragon Pokémon — Dragon and Flying from Bagon → Shelgon → Salamence. In Pokémon GO it is a Dragon/Flying attacker; Outrage from Bagon Community Day (or an Elite TM) is the best Dragon nuke when you need it, and Fly is a strong Flying charged move. Dragon helps against Dragon; Flying helps against Grass, Bug, and Fighting. Ice hits it for 4×; Fairy, Rock, and Dragon also punish it. It can Mega Evolve into Mega Salamence.

Mega Evolution

Salamence can Mega Evolve into Mega Salamence (still Dragon / Flying). Mega Evolution uses Candy plus Mega Salamence Energy, boosts Dragon attackers in the raid lobby, and only one Mega or Primal can be active at a time. Shadow Salamence cannot Mega Evolve — purify first if you want the Mega.
