Altaria is the Humming Pokémon — Dragon and Flying from Swablu. In Pokémon GO, Dragon moves help against other Dragons; Flying helps against Grass, Fighting, and Bug. Ice hits it very hard (double weakness). It can Mega Evolve into Mega Altaria (Dragon / Fairy) when you have Mega Altaria Energy. Moonblast from Swablu Community Day (or an Elite TM) is its best Fairy charged move.

Invest tip: Priority Community Day move: Moonblast (Elite Charged TM if you missed Swablu Community Day). Dragon Breath + Moonblast / Sky Attack / Dragon Pulse is the usual PvP kit. Shadow Altaria is a strong PvP and budget Dragon option; keep a non-Shadow for Mega. Farm Mega Energy from Mega Altaria raids and events.

Altaria can Mega Evolve into Mega Altaria, which becomes Dragon / Fairy (it loses Flying and gains Fairy). Mega Evolution uses Candy plus Mega Altaria Energy, boosts Dragon (and Fairy) attackers depending on lobby needs, and only one Mega or Primal can be active at a time. Shadow Altaria cannot Mega Evolve — purify first if you want the Mega.
