Pidgeot

Say it: PIDGE-ee-ot

Kids summary (simpler)Tap to expand

Pidgeot is the Bird Pokémon — Normal and Flying from Pidgey → Pidgeotto → Pidgeot. In Pokémon GO it is a Flying attacker and can Mega Evolve into Mega Pidgeot; Gust from Pidgey Community Day (or an Elite TM) is a key fast move. Flying helps against Grass, Bug, and Fighting; Normal adds little. Electric, Ice, and Rock punish it. Evolve Pidgeotto or catch Pidgeot from events.

Pokédex notes

Pidgeot is a Normal / Flying-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO. National Dex #0018. Normal types need coverage moves — check our moveset guide before spending TMs.

Where in GO: Wild spawns, eggs, Field Research, and seasonal events

Invest tip: Priority Community Day move: Gust (Elite Fast TM if you missed Pidgey CD). Gust / Air Slash + Brave Bird / Hurricane is the Flying kit. Shadow Pidgeot is the raid DPS lean — remove Frustration before investing. Mega Pidgeot for Flying raid days.

Type matchups

  • Normal moves do not have a common super-effective target in our chart.
  • Flying moves hit Grass, Fighting, and Bug hard.

When Pidgeot is your opponent, Electric, Ice, Rock hits hard.

Mega Evolution

Pidgeot can Mega Evolve into Mega Pidgeot (still Normal / Flying). Mega Evolution uses Candy plus Mega Pidgeot Energy, boosts Flying attackers in the raid lobby, and only one Mega or Primal can be active at a time. Shadow Pidgeot cannot Mega Evolve — purify first if you want the Mega.
