Kids summary (simpler)Tap to expand

Lucario is the Aura Pokémon — Fighting and Steel from Riolu. In Pokémon GO it is a Fighting/Steel attacker and can Mega Evolve into Mega Lucario. Fighting helps against Normal, Rock, Steel, Ice, and Dark; Steel helps against Fairy, Ice, and Rock. Fighting, Fire, and Ground punish it. Force Palm from Riolu Community Day (or an Elite TM) is a key fast move. Evolve Riolu or catch Lucario from raids.

Mega Evolution

Lucario can Mega Evolve into Mega Lucario (still Fighting / Steel). Mega Evolution uses Candy plus Mega Lucario Energy, boosts Fighting attackers in the raid lobby, and only one Mega or Primal can be active at a time. Shadow Lucario cannot Mega Evolve — purify first if you want the Mega.
