Blaziken

Say it: BLAZE-ih-ken

Kids summary (simpler)Tap to expand

Blaziken is the Blaze Pokémon — Fire and Fighting from Torchic → Combusken → Blaziken. In Pokémon GO it is a Fire/Fighting attacker and can Mega Evolve into Mega Blaziken. Fire helps against Grass, Bug, Ice, and Steel; Fighting helps against Normal, Rock, Steel, Ice, and Dark. Water, Ground, Flying, and Psychic punish it. Blast Burn from Community Day (or an Elite TM) is its best Fire charged move.

Pokédex notes

Blaziken is a Fire / Fighting-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO. National Dex #0257. Use the Fire/Fighting type chart below before powering up — metas shift every season.

Where in GO: Wild spawns, eggs, Field Research, and seasonal events

Invest tip: Priority Community Day move: Blast Burn (Elite Charged TM if you missed Torchic Community Day). Counter + Blast Burn / Blaze Kick / Aura Sphere is the usual kit. Shadow Blaziken is a top raid DPS pick; keep a non-Shadow for Mega. Farm Mega Energy from Mega Blaziken raids and events.

Type matchups

  • Fire moves hit Grass, Ice, Bug, and Steel hard.
  • Fighting moves hit Normal, Ice, Rock, Dark, and Steel hard.

When Blaziken is your opponent, Water, Ground, Flying, Psychic hits hard.

Mega Evolution

Blaziken can Mega Evolve into Mega Blaziken (still Fire / Fighting). Mega Evolution uses Candy plus Mega Blaziken Energy, boosts Fire attackers in the raid lobby, and only one Mega or Primal can be active at a time. Shadow Blaziken cannot Mega Evolve — purify first if you want the Mega.
