Beedrill

Say it: BEE-drill

Kids summary (simpler)Tap to expand

Beedrill is the Poison Bee Pokémon — Bug and Poison from Weedle → Kakuna → Beedrill. In Pokémon GO it is a Bug/Poison attacker and can Mega Evolve into Mega Beedrill. Bug helps against Grass, Psychic, and Dark; Poison helps against Fairy and Grass. Fire, Flying, Rock, and Psychic punish it. Drill Run from Community Day (or an Elite TM) is its best Ground charged move.

Say it: BEE-drill

Beedrill (#015) is a Bug / Poison Pokémon in Pokémon GO — the final form of Weedle. Trainers use it as a budget Bug attacker and Mega Beedrill for Bug lobby boost, especially with Drill Run. Against Beedrill, lead with Fire, Flying, Rock, or Psychic. Stats, type chart, moves, and counter picks below use our Game Master snapshot.

Invest tip: Priority Community Day move: Drill Run (Elite Charged TM if you missed Weedle Community Day). Poison Jab + X-Scissor / Sludge Bomb is the usual Bug/Poison kit. Shadow Beedrill is the raid DPS pick; keep a non-Shadow for Mega. Farm Mega Energy from Mega Beedrill raids and events.

Type matchups

  • Bug moves hit Grass, Psychic, and Dark hard.
  • Poison moves hit Grass and Fairy hard.

When Beedrill is your opponent, Fire, Flying, Psychic, Rock hits hard.

Mega Evolution

Beedrill can Mega Evolve into Mega Beedrill (still Bug / Poison). Mega Evolution uses Candy plus Mega Beedrill Energy, boosts Bug attackers in the raid lobby, and only one Mega or Primal can be active at a time. Shadow Beedrill cannot Mega Evolve — purify first if you want the Mega.
