Seedot

Say it: SEE-do-t

Kids summary (simpler)Tap to expand

Seedot is the Acorn Pokémon — Grass before Nuzleaf and Shiftry. In Pokémon GO it is usually candy on the way to Shiftry — not a finished raid attacker. Grass helps against Water, Ground, and Rock; Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug hit Grass hard. Leaf Blade (now Standard on Shiftry) originated from Seedot Community Day. Catch Seedot from the wild, eggs, or events, then evolve.

Say it: SEE-do-t

Seedot (#273) is a Grass Pokémon in Pokémon GO — the baby stage of Shiftry. Trainers almost never power Seedot for raids; the value is candy and IVs for Shiftry (and Leaf Blade when relevant). Against Seedot, lead with Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, or Bug. Stats, type chart, moves, and counter picks below use our Game Master snapshot.

Pokédex notes

Seedot is a Grass-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO. National Dex #0273. Grass picks spike during Sunny weather and certain Community Days.

Where in GO: Wild spawns, eggs, Field Research, and seasonal events

Invest tip: Do not sink Stardust into Seedot. Keep high-IV copies for Shiftry. Shadow Seedot is the same — evolve toward Shadow Shiftry after Frustration removal.
