Rowlet

Kids summary (simpler)Tap to expand
Rowlet is the Grass Quill Pokémon — Grass and Flying before Dartrix and Decidueye. In Pokémon GO it is usually candy on the way to Decidueye — Frenzy Plant from Rowlet Community Day belongs on Decidueye. Grass/Flying hits Water, Ground, Fighting, and Bug well; Ice hits it for 4×; Fire, Flying, Poison, and Rock also punish it. Catch Rowlet from the wild, eggs, or events, then evolve.

Rowlet (#722) is a Grass / Flying Pokémon in Pokémon GO — the baby stage of Dartrix/Decidueye. Trainers almost never power Rowlet for raids; the value is candy and IVs for Decidueye (and Hisuian Decidueye when relevant). Against Rowlet, lead with Ice, Fire, Flying, Poison, or Rock. Stats, type chart, moves, and counter picks below use our Game Master snapshot.

Pokédex notes
Rowlet becomes Decidueye — Grass/Ghost typing unique among starters. Form variants may differ by region.
Where in GO: Wild spawns, eggs, Field Research, and seasonal events
Invest tip: Do not sink Stardust into Rowlet. Keep high-IV copies for Decidueye. Shadow Rowlet is the same — evolve toward Shadow Decidueye after Frustration removal.
