Rockruff

Say it: RO-ckr-uff

Kids summary (simpler)Tap to expand

Rockruff is the Puppy Pokémon — Rock before Lycanroc (Midday, Midnight, or Dusk). In Pokémon GO it is usually candy on the way to Lycanroc — not a finished raid attacker. Rock helps against Fire, Flying, Ice, and Bug; Water, Grass, Fighting, Steel, and Ground punish it. Catch Rockruff from the wild, research, or events, then evolve under the right time / event rules for your preferred Lycanroc form.

Say it: RO-ckr-uff

Rockruff (#744) is a Rock Pokémon in Pokémon GO — the baby stage of Lycanroc. Trainers almost never power Rockruff for raids; the value is candy and IVs for Lycanroc. Against Rockruff, lead with Water, Grass, Fighting, Steel, or Ground. Stats, type chart, moves, and counter picks below use our Game Master snapshot.
