Oshawott
Say it: OH-shuh-wot
Kids summary (simpler)Tap to expand
Oshawott is the Sea Otter Pokémon — Water starter before Dewott and Samurott. In Pokémon GO it is usually candy on the way to Samurott — not a finished raid attacker. Water helps against Fire, Ground, and Rock; Grass and Electric hit Water hard. Catch Oshawott from the wild, eggs, or events, then evolve. Hydro Cannon from Oshawott Community Day belongs on Samurott (and Hisuian Samurott when featured).
Say it: OH-shuh-wot
Oshawott (#501) is a Water Pokémon in Pokémon GO — the baby stage of Samurott. Trainers almost never power Oshawott for raids; the value is candy and IVs for Dewott/Samurott (and Hydro Cannon). Against Oshawott, lead with Grass or Electric. Stats, type chart, moves, and counter picks below use our Game Master snapshot.

Pokédex notes
Oshawott evolves into Samurott — Water attacker with Hisuian form handled separately in GO.
Where in GO: Wild spawns, eggs, Field Research, and seasonal events
Invest tip: Do not sink Stardust into Oshawott. Keep high-IV copies for Samurott. Shadow Oshawott is the same — evolve toward Shadow Samurott.
