Magnemite

Say it: MA-gne-mi-te

Kids summary (simpler)Tap to expand

Magnemite is the Magnet Pokémon — Electric and Steel before Magneton and Magnezone. In Pokémon GO it is usually candy on the way to Magnezone — not a finished raid attacker. Electric/Steel hits Water, Flying, and Fairy well; Ground hits it for 4×; Fire and Fighting punish it. Catch Magnemite from the wild, eggs, or events, then evolve.

Say it: MA-gne-mi-te

Magnemite (#081) is an Electric / Steel Pokémon in Pokémon GO — the baby stage of Magnezone. Trainers almost never power Magnemite for raids; the value is candy and IVs for Magneton/Magnezone. Against Magnemite, lead with Ground (best), or Fire or Fighting. Stats, type chart, moves, and counter picks below use our Game Master snapshot.

Pokédex notes

Magnemite is a Electric / Steel-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO. National Dex #0081. Electric counters dominate Water raids — pair with weather when possible.

Where in GO: Wild spawns, eggs, Field Research, and seasonal events

Invest tip: Do not sink Stardust into Magnemite. Keep high-IV copies for Magnezone. Shadow Magnemite is the same — evolve toward Shadow Magnezone.

Type matchups

  • Electric moves hit Water and Flying hard.
  • Steel moves hit Ice, Rock, and Fairy hard.

When Magnemite is your opponent, Fire, Fighting, Ground hits hard.
