Ditto

Say it: DIT-toe

Kids summary (simpler)Tap to expand

Ditto is the Transform Pokémon — a Normal type that copies the foe’s appearance. In Pokémon GO it only knows Transform and Struggle — not a real attacker. Fighting hits Normal hard. Catch Ditto from the wild (it disguises as other species) or events; it is mainly for lucky trades, purifying, and the Pokédex.

Say it: DIT-toe

Ditto (#132) is a Normal Pokémon in Pokémon GO. Trainers never power Ditto for raids; its Game Master pool is Transform + Struggle only. Against Ditto, lead with Fighting. The value is catching disguised Ditto, XL candy, and trade fodder — not battle investment.

Pokédex notes

Ditto is a Normal-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO. National Dex #0132. Normal types need coverage moves — check our moveset guide before spending TMs.

Where in GO: Wild spawns, eggs, Field Research, and seasonal events

Fun fact: Ditto disguises as other species — use a GO Plus or quick catch to reveal it.

Invest tip: Do not TM or power Ditto for combat. Keep lucky / high-IV copies for trades if you want. Shadow Ditto is the same novelty.

Type matchups

  • Normal moves do not have a common super-effective target in our chart.

When Ditto is your opponent, Fighting hits hard.
