Cyndaquil

Say it: SIN-duh-kwill

Kids summary (simpler)Tap to expand

Cyndaquil is the Fire Mouse Pokémon — Fire before Quilava and Typhlosion (and Hisuian Typhlosion). In Pokémon GO it is usually candy on the way to Typhlosion — not a finished raid attacker. Fire helps against Grass, Bug, Ice, and Steel; Water, Ground, and Rock hit Fire hard. Catch Cyndaquil from the wild, eggs, Community Day, or events, then evolve. Blast Burn from Cyndaquil Community Day belongs on Typhlosion.

Say it: SIN-duh-kwill

Cyndaquil (#155) is a Fire Pokémon in Pokémon GO — the baby stage of the Johto Typhlosion line. Trainers almost never power Cyndaquil for raids; the value is candy and IVs for Quilava/Typhlosion (and Blast Burn). Against Cyndaquil, lead with Water, Ground, or Rock. Pokédex notes

Cyndaquil evolves into Typhlosion, a Fire attacker with event-exclusive moves on some Community Days. Watch for Hisuian form events separately.

Where in GO: Wild spawns, eggs, Field Research, and seasonal events

Fun fact: Starter lines get frequent Community Day reruns — save high-IV copies for exclusive moves.

Invest tip: Do not sink Stardust into Cyndaquil. Keep high-IV or Shadow copies tagged for Typhlosion. Save Elite TMs for Typhlosion’s Blast Burn. Shadow Cyndaquil is the same — evolve toward Shadow Typhlosion.

Type matchups

  • Fire moves hit Grass, Ice, Bug, and Steel hard.

When Cyndaquil is your opponent, Water, Ground, Rock hits hard.

Cyndaquil’s Game Master pool is temporary. Real investment is Typhlosion (Incinerate / Shadow Claw + Blast Burn) — evolve before serious TMs and power-ups.
