Cubone
Say it: CU-bo-ne
Kids summary (simpler)Tap to expand
Cubone is the Lonely Pokémon — Ground before Marowak (and Alolan Marowak). In Pokémon GO it is usually candy on the way to Marowak — not a finished raid attacker. Ground helps against Fire, Electric, Poison, Rock, and Steel; Water, Grass, and Ice hit Ground hard. Catch Cubone from the wild, eggs, or events, then evolve. Bonemerang from Cubone Community Day belongs on Marowak.
Say it: CU-bo-ne
Cubone (#104) is a Ground Pokémon in Pokémon GO — the pre-evolution of Marowak / Alolan Marowak. Trainers almost never power Cubone for raids; the value is candy and IVs for Marowak (and Bonemerang). Against Cubone, lead with Water, Grass, or Ice. Stats, type chart, moves, and counter picks below use our Game Master snapshot.

Pokédex notes
Cubone is a Ground-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO. National Dex #0104. Use the Ground type chart below before powering up — metas shift every season.
Where in GO: Wild spawns, eggs, Field Research, and seasonal events
Invest tip: Do not sink Stardust into Cubone. Keep high-IV copies for Marowak (or Alolan Marowak). Shadow Cubone is the same — evolve toward Shadow Marowak.
