Chansey
Say it: CHA-nsey
Kids summary (simpler)Tap to expand
Chansey is the Egg Pokémon — a bulky Normal type between Happiny and Blissey. In Pokémon GO it is a gym defender and candy bridge to Blissey — not a raid attacker. Normal moves only hit Normal hard and lose to Fighting. Evolve Happiny or catch Chansey from eggs, then evolve to Blissey when ready.
Say it: CHA-nsey
Chansey (#113) is a Normal Pokémon in Pokémon GO — the middle stage of Happiny → Chansey → Blissey. Trainers use it as a temporary gym defender and IV/candy stepping stone to Blissey. Against Chansey, lead with Fighting. Stats, type chart, moves, and counter picks below use our Game Master snapshot.

Pokédex notes
Chansey is a Normal-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO. National Dex #0113. Normal types need coverage moves — check our moveset guide before spending TMs.
Where in GO: Wild spawns, eggs, Field Research, and seasonal events
Invest tip: Do not sink serious Stardust into Chansey unless you need a temporary defender. Keep high-IV or lucky Chansey tagged for Blissey. Shadow Chansey usually evolves toward Blissey rather than staying mid-line.
