Ambipom

Kids summary (simpler)Tap to expand
Ambipom is the Long Tail Pokémon — a Normal type evolved from Aipom. In Pokémon GO it is a Great League favorite when it has Double Hit from Community Day (or an Elite TM). Normal moves only hit Normal foes hard and lose to Fighting. Evolve Aipom during a Double Hit window, or Elite TM Ambipom later.

Ambipom (#424) is a Normal Pokémon in Pokémon GO — the final form of Aipom. Trainers use it almost exclusively for Great League PvP with Double Hit; it is not a raid Normal attacker. Against Ambipom, lead with Fighting. Stats, type chart, moves, and counter picks below use our Game Master snapshot.

Pokédex notes
Ambipom is a Normal-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO. National Dex #0424. Normal types need coverage moves — check our moveset guide before spending TMs.
Where in GO: Wild spawns, eggs, Field Research, and seasonal events
Invest tip: Priority Community Day move: Double Hit (Elite Charged TM if you missed Aipom Community Day). Pair with Scratch or Astonish depending on the cup. Shadow Ambipom is spicier but glassier in PvP — remove Frustration before investing. Skip raid power-ups.
